Workshop Services
Three paths for one mechanical watch
Whether you need a written estimate before committing, a full bench service for a well-worn piece, or an extended restoration project — each path is handled personally and documented throughout.
Our Approach
How work is carried out
Every piece that arrives at the bench is handled with the same deliberate care, regardless of which service path was chosen. The process begins with understanding — what the watch has been through, what its movement shows, and what the owner expects at the end.
Intake & Evaluation
The watch is received and placed on the bench for evaluation. Movement condition, case wear, crystal, crown, and gaskets are all assessed before any further work is discussed with the owner.
Written Scope
A written plan is prepared describing the work needed and the rationale behind each step. For larger projects, the owner reviews and confirms before any irreversible step is taken.
Bench Work & Return
Work proceeds carefully and methodically. Timing results and service notes accompany the watch at collection. For longer projects, the owner receives progress updates by message or phone throughout.
Service 01
Intake Consultation & Estimate
A short session designed to give owners a clear picture of what their piece needs before any work is committed to. The watch is opened on the bench, evaluated for movement condition, case wear, and gasket integrity, then a written estimate is prepared describing the recommended work in plain English.
The estimate carries no expectation of proceeding. The owner may go ahead with the workshop, take the written assessment elsewhere, or simply collect the watch. Includes basic external cleaning. A straightforward option for anyone uncertain about the current state of their timepiece.
- Movement condition assessed at the bench
- Written estimate in plain, jargon-free English
- Case wear, gasket, and crown integrity noted
- Basic external cleaning included
- No expectation to proceed with further work
Service 02
Standard Workshop Service
A full bench service for self-winding and hand-wound movements. The watch is fully disassembled and components cleaned in stages appropriate to the materials — movement parts, dial, hands, case, and bracelet are each handled according to their specific needs.
Lubricants are applied to manufacturer specification. Mainsprings are inspected and replaced where indicated. The movement is timed across positions on the bench machine. Cases and bracelets are wiped and lightly cleaned; gaskets are replaced and water resistance is verified where the original case rating allows.
- Complete disassembly and material-appropriate cleaning
- Manufacturer-specification lubrication throughout
- Mainspring inspection and replacement where needed
- Multi-position timing on bench machine
- Gasket replacement and water resistance verification
- Light case and bracelet cleaning
Suitable for everyday mechanical pieces that have run continuously for three to five years.
Service 03
Concierge Restoration Project
An extended workshop project for owners who want sustained, careful attention paid to a particular piece. It begins with a long intake conversation about how the watch has been worn, its history, and what the owner hopes for from the restoration. Nothing irreversible happens before the owner has reviewed and confirmed a written plan.
Work is documented in writing and through photographs at each major step. The owner receives periodic updates by message or phone as the project progresses. Suitable for valued mechanical pieces needing significant attention — whether for mechanical restoration, condition preservation, or both.
- Long intake conversation before any work begins
- Written project plan reviewed and approved by owner
- Photographic documentation at each major stage
- Periodic progress updates by message or phone
- No irreversible step taken without owner confirmation
- Full written service record accompanying the piece at return

Workshop Standards
How the bench is run
Consistent practices applied across every service, regardless of tier.
Written Communication
All estimates, plans, and service notes are provided in writing. Owners receive a clear record of what was done and why.
Lubrication Discipline
Lubricants are selected and applied according to the movement type and manufacturer guidance. Over-lubrication and under-lubrication are equally avoided.
Bench Timing
Every serviced movement is measured across multiple positions on a timing machine before leaving the bench. Results are noted in the service record.
Water Resistance Verification
Where the original case design allows, water resistance is tested after gasket replacement. Cases with no original rating are not pressure-tested.
Owner Consent for Irreversible Steps
Any step that cannot be undone — polishing, part replacement, refinishing — is discussed with the owner before it is carried out. Silence is never taken as consent.
Replaced Parts Returned
Where components are replaced — mainsprings, gaskets, crystals — the original parts are returned with the watch at the owner's request.

Bring your watch to the bench
If you are unsure which service applies to your piece, a brief conversation at intake will usually make it clear. You are welcome to bring the watch in and have it looked at before committing to anything.
