Cookie Policy
This page explains how Horologe House uses cookies on its website and how you can adjust your preferences at any time.
Last updated: 12 May 2025
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are stored in your browser and sent back to the website on subsequent visits. Cookies allow websites to remember useful information — such as whether you have already seen a notice — so your experience is smoother across visits.
Cookies do not contain personal information on their own. They typically hold a small identifier — a number or short code — that connects your browser to information stored on a server or within the cookie file itself.
Some cookies are set directly by this website (first-party cookies). Others are set by third-party services we use, such as analytics tools. Both types are covered by this policy.
Cookies we use
Essential cookies
Always activeThese cookies are needed for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They are set in response to actions you take — such as recording your cookie consent choice — and do not track you across other websites.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| cookieConsent | Stores your cookie preference | 1 year |
| PHPSESSID | Session management | Session |
Analytics cookies
OptionalThese cookies help us understand how visitors use the website — which pages are visited most, how long people stay, and where they come from. The information is collected in aggregate and does not identify you personally. We use this to improve the site over time.
| Service | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics (_ga) | Distinguishes users | 2 years |
| Google Analytics (_gid) | Distinguishes users | 24 hours |
Marketing cookies
OptionalThese cookies are used to deliver relevant content and measure the performance of advertising campaigns. They may be set by advertising networks we work with and can be used to build a picture of your interests.
| Service | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Google Ads (_gcl_au) | Conversion tracking | 90 days |
| Facebook Pixel (_fbp) | Ad personalisation | 90 days |
Preference cookies
OptionalThese cookies remember choices you make — such as your region or display preferences — so the website behaves consistently between visits. If you disable these, some settings may reset each time you return.
Your cookie preferences
Use the toggles above to adjust which optional cookies you accept. Your choices are saved to your browser. You can return to this page at any time to update them.
Third-party cookies
Some features of this website rely on services provided by third parties. When these are active, those services may place their own cookies on your device. Horologe House does not control third-party cookies directly — they are governed by the privacy policies of the relevant providers.
Third-party services that may set cookies on this website include:
- Google Analytics — website usage statistics. Google Privacy Policy
- Google Ads — advertising performance measurement. Governed by Google's advertising policies.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel — campaign performance tracking. Meta Privacy Policy
- Microsoft Advertising (Bing) — search advertising measurement.
How long cookies are stored
Session cookies
Exist only while your browser is open. When you close the browser tab or window, session cookies are deleted automatically. They are used for things like keeping you logged in during a visit.
Persistent cookies
Remain on your device after the browser is closed, until they expire or you delete them. Expiry periods vary — from 24 hours for some analytics identifiers to up to 2 years for others.
