What We Offer

Three ways to bring your watch to the bench

Each workshop path is sized to the piece and to what the owner needs to know before, during, and after the work.

Watchmaker examining movement at the bench

Intake Consultation & Estimate

The watch is opened, evaluated for movement condition, case wear, and gasket integrity — then a written estimate is prepared in plain English. The owner may proceed, take the estimate elsewhere, or simply collect the piece. No expectation attached.

  • Written condition report
  • Basic external cleaning included
  • Turnaround: three working days

Standard Workshop Service

Full bench service for self-winding and hand-wound movements. The watch is fully disassembled, cleaned in stages, lubricated to manufacturer specification, and timed across positions. Gaskets replaced; water resistance verified where the original case rating allows.

  • Complete disassembly & ultrasonic clean
  • Mainspring inspection & replacement if indicated
  • Turnaround: two to three weeks
RM 1,090 Enquire

Concierge Restoration Project

An extended project for owners who want sustained attention on a particular piece. Begins with a long intake conversation; a written plan is reviewed and approved before any irreversible step is taken. Work is documented in writing and photographs; owners receive periodic updates.

  • Written plan approved before work begins
  • Photo documentation at each major stage
  • Project length: ten to fourteen weeks
RM 3,000 Enquire

Why Owners Return

What sets the bench apart

A small atelier works differently from a large workshop. The differences matter to the watch and to the owner.

Written estimates before commitment

No work proceeds without a written description that the owner has reviewed. Nothing is open-ended.

Photographic documentation

Restoration projects are photographed at each major stage. The owner receives a record of what was found and what was done.

One watchmaker, one bench

Every piece passes through the same experienced hands. There is no dispatch to a back-office service centre.

Manufacturer-grade lubricants

Lubricants are applied to the specific grade and quantity called for by the movement's design, not a generic schedule.

Plain-language communication

Technical findings are described in terms the owner can understand. No jargon used to obscure what was or wasn't done.

No pressure, no obligation

Intake consultations come with no expectation that the owner will proceed with further work. The estimate belongs to the owner.

Ready to Begin

Bring the watch in — we'll take it from there

Whether the watch stopped last week or has sat unworn for years, the intake consultation is the right first step. A written assessment, no strings attached.

Common Questions

Before you bring the watch in

How do I know if my watch needs servicing?
Mechanical watches benefit from periodic bench attention regardless of whether anything seems wrong. If the watch is losing or gaining significant time, if it stops unexpectedly, or if it has not been opened in more than five years, an intake consultation will give you a clear picture of what the movement needs. The session costs RM 520 and produces a written estimate with no follow-on obligation.
What types of watches does the atelier work on?
The bench handles mechanical movements — self-winding and hand-wound. This includes most Swiss and Japanese mechanical watches from the mid-twentieth century to present. Quartz and smartwatch movements fall outside the scope of the atelier's work.
How long does a standard service take?
A standard workshop service typically takes two to three weeks from the date the watch is left at the atelier. Intake consultations produce a written estimate within three working days. Concierge restoration projects run ten to fourteen weeks and include regular progress updates throughout.
Will the case and bracelet be polished during service?
Cases and bracelets are wiped and lightly cleaned as part of the standard service. Full case polishing or refinishing is treated as a separate discussion item and is only carried out with the owner's explicit instruction. Many owners prefer to preserve the original surface character of an older piece.
Can I drop off the watch without an appointment?
Walk-ins are welcome during opening hours, though prior contact by phone or message is appreciated for concierge restoration enquiries. For standard services and intake consultations, arriving during opening hours without prior arrangement is generally straightforward.
Is the work covered by any kind of post-service period?
The atelier stands behind the bench work. If a movement concern arises that relates to the service performed, the watchmaker will examine the piece at no additional bench charge within twelve months of the service date. Parts and materials are assessed separately based on what is needed.
